What’s it like to be a graduate student in astronomy at the University of Toronto? Is this the path for you? What would your day-to-day studies and research work be like? Would you enjoy travelling to Chile, the Canary Islands or Hawaii to carry out research?

In this video, three recent graduates from the astronomy program at U of T tell you what led them to study astronomy, what their time here was like, and how it fulfilled their passions.

Bryce Croll completed his PhD in 2011 and is currently a Sagan Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA. His research interests include observations of extrasolar planets, near-infrared observations, and stellar spot-modelling.

Jacqueline Radigan completed her PhD in 2012 and is currently at the Space Telescope Science Institute, Baltimore, MD.

Mubdi Rahman completed his PhD in 2012 and is currently in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University.
