RECEPTION: SUNDAY, 2 JUNE
We will lead off the meeting with an evening reception on 2 June, in the Lower Pavilion of the VCC. The pavilion is surrounded by scenic gardens and the picturesque backdrop of the historic Empress Hotel. There is no additional cost to attend the reception.
MAIN CONFERENCE PROGRAM: 3 – 7 JUNE
All conference events (except the banquet) will be held in the Victoria Conference Centre (VCC).
The program will consist of ~10 invited talks complemented by ~40 contributed talks. We will have sufficient poster space to allow any participant not speaking to present a poster on their work. The posters will be up for the duration of the meeting, and we will hold a dedicated evening poster session early in the meeting. Check back for updates as the program takes shape.
PUBLIC LECTURE: TUESDAY, 4 JUNE
In conjunction with the symposium, we will hold a free public lecture in the VCC main lecture hall. Prof. Debra Fischer of Yale University will be our speaker.
BANQUET: THURSDAY, 6 JUNE
The symposium banquet will be held at the Royal BC Museum, located across the street from the VCC. Highlights include the First Peoples’ Gallery and the Modern History Gallery. Participants will be free to wander the exhibits that detail the history and pre-history of British Columbia and Victoria, while enjoying catered delicacies. The cost to attend the banquet will be separate from the registration fee.
